Osimhen, Boniface land shocking market value in latest CIES rankings

Victor Osimhen and Victor Boniface have landed surprising spots in the latest CIES Football Observatory rankings for African players’ transfer values in the summer transfer window.
Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, who recently signed a contract extension with a reported release clause of around €120 million, has seen his market value drop.
Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface, who was named Bundesliga Rookie of the Year, has seen a significant rise in his market value.
In the rankings, Ivory Coast and Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson holds the top spot, followed by Ghanaian star Mohammed Kudus in second place. Osimhen is valued at €85.6 million, placing him fourth, while Boniface is valued at €86.5 million, securing the third position.
These rankings highlight the shifting market dynamics and the increasing recognition of Boniface’s performance and potential.
