By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Forward Precious Christopher has joined Tanzania women’s league winners, Simba Queens.

Simba Queens announced the acquisition of the former Rivers Angels player from fellow Tanzania side, Yanga Princess on Tuesday.

As the league winners continue to prepare for the 2024 CECAFA (East Africa) Women’s Champions League Qualifiers, the team is reinforcing with the acquisition of Precious.

Precious was a member of Rivers Angels side that won the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership title in 2021.

She also played for the Jewels of Rivers at the maiden West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) Women’s Champions League Qualifiers and reached the final against Ghanaian side, Hasaacas Ladies.

At the maiden CAF Women’s Champions League, she was part of Rivers Angels side that faced AS FAR FC (Morocco), Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies (South Africa), and Vihiga Queens (Kenya) in the group stage.

Simba Queens will face PVP Buyenzi, Kawempe Muslim Ladies and FAD Djibouti in Group B of CECAFA Women’s Champions League Qualifiers.

Precious who already had continental experience with Rivers Angels is expected to add more bite to the Tanzanian attack.

The forward became the latest Nigerian player to join Simba Queens after Olaiya Barakat who is no longer at the Club ahead of another continental assignment.
