By Monsurah Olatunji
Nigeria forward Michelle Alozie has expressed her disappointment as the Super Falcons bowed out of the Olympic Games following a 3-1 defeat to Japan on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old Houston Dash star started all three matches for Nigeria as they lost their opening game 1-0 to Brazil and recorded the same scoreline against reigning Women’s World Cup winners, Spain.
The first-generation Nigerian American playing for her parents’ birth nation, gained prominence at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup due to her stunning looks on and off the pitch.
Following the disappointing result, the cancer researcher took to social media to express her disappointment.
“No one is more disappointed than us players,” she posted on her IG.
“The unseen work, the endless battles, the desire and want for better, from and for ourselves.
“Through it all, I am forever proud to play alongside my Super Falcons. By the grace of God, we will be back and stronger.”
