By Saheed Afolabi

Kano Pillars head coach, Usman Abdallah, has praised the significant influence of Nigeria captain, Ahmed Musa, since his return to the club.

Musa, who rejoined his boyhood club and was appointed team captain, has had an immediate impact both on and off the pitch.

Abdallah recounted Musa’s contribution to the team, stating that his leadership and experience have been a huge motivation for the younger players, stressing that Musa’s return is having a positive effect in the squad’s display and in attracting more fans to the stadium.

Musa scored a brace in his debut match against Sunshine Stars in Katsina, nearly completing a hat-trick and Abdallah pointed out the vital role Musa played during their second match against Akwa United, emphasizing that his leadership on the field was evident.

“He’s the captain of the team. He started off his career from Kano Pillars and provides that motivation and leadership on the pitch,” Abdallah said in an interview with Complete Sports.

“His presence pulls more spectators to the stadium, not just only when we play at home but when we play at away as you saw in Uyo.”

Since returning to Kano Pillars, Musa has netted two goals in two matches, underlining his contribution to the team both in terms of performance and drawing in fan support.
