Florence Alexander backs Bayelsa Queens to deliver against Rivers Angels

By Wale Mustapha

Bayelsa Queens’ defender, Florence Alexander, is brimming with confidence as her team prepares for their highly anticipated Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) clash against Rivers Angels on Wednesday.

Having joined the Restoration Girls from Rivers Angels before the start of the season, Alexander is optimistic about her team’s readiness to face their rivals and secure a positive result.

“We’ve been preparing well for this match, and we won’t be under any pressure, even though it’s their home ground. I’m confident that we’ll get a good result,” Alexander told Nigeriafootball.ng.

The veteran centre-back, who previously played for Confluence Queens, acknowledged the rivalry of this South-South derby as she hinted that both teams are familiar with each other’s strengths and weaknesses, which will only heighten the excitement of the encounter.

“Both teams know each other, and we’re all fired up to deliver a spectacular outing for the fans,” she said.

“We respect our opponents, but we’re not going to let their reputation dictate our performance. We’ll play our game, and I’m confident we’ll come out on top.”

Alexander also praised her teammates, noting that the squad is in high spirits and focused on delivering a strong performance.

“The team is looking sharp, and everyone is raring to go. We’re all focused on getting a good result and making our fans proud.”

The Matchday 5 encounter will take place at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt at 4pm.
