Wydad AC Hosts FIFA Club World Cup Trophy Tour Stop in Casablanca

The FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ Trophy Tour made a memorable stop in Casablanca, Morocco, as Wydad AC welcomed the iconic 24-carat gold-plated prize during a two-day visit from April 15–16.

The tour, part of FIFA’s build-up to the expanded 32-team tournament kicking off in June, saw the trophy displayed at several landmarks and Wydad AC’s facilities, celebrating the club’s participation in Group C alongside Manchester City, Al Ain FC, and Juventus FC.

Head Coach Rhulani Mokwena opened the event with remarks in English, expressing pride in African clubs’ representation and predicting a strong showing by Wydad in the U.S.-hosted tournament.

Wydad captain Jamal Harkass, speaking in Moroccan Arabic, shared his excitement about facing global heavyweights Manchester City and Juventus. Forward Mohamed Rahyli also addressed the media in English, highlighting the club’s passionate supporters and its readiness to showcase Moroccan football on the world stage.

Former Wydad player and Moroccan football legend Nourredine Naybet praised the club’s legacy and expressed hope for a strong global performance from the team.

The Trophy Tour, which began in New York City on January 16, will visit all 32 participating clubs before the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ officially kicks off. Wydad AC will open their campaign against Manchester City on June 18 in Philadelphia.
