Nigerian international striker Taiwo Awoniyi has signed a new three-year contract extension with Nottingham Forest, committing his future to the club until June 2027.
The 26-year-old has become a key figure at the City Ground since arriving from Union Berlin in August 2022 for a reported £17 million fee.
Known for his strength, work rate, and crucial goals, Awoniyi has played a vital role in Forest’s Premier League campaigns, helping the club maintain top-flight status.
Awoniyi’s contract renewal reflects both his commitment to Forest’s long-term project and the club’s confidence in his continued impact.
Forest hierarchy view the extension as a major step in building a competitive squad around proven talents.
“I’m proud to extend my stay with a club that has shown great faith in me. I’m excited for what lies ahead,” Awoniyi said following the announcement.
Since his Premier League debut, the former Liverpool forward has earned praise for his ability to lead the line, consistently posing a threat in the final third and contributing in key moments.
His extended stay is also welcome news for Super Eagles supporters, with Awoniyi expected to play an important role in Nigeria’s upcoming international fixtures.
The new deal ensures that Forest fans will continue to see one of Nigeria’s brightest attacking talents in action as the club looks to build on recent seasons.
