NPFL sets July 28 for AGM and 2025/26 fixtures draw in Abuja

By Dayo Awoniyi

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) board has confirmed that its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the 2025/26 season will take place on July 28, 2025, at the Top Rank Galaxy Hotel in Abuja.

The crucial gathering will also feature the official draws and fixture unveiling for the new NPFL campaign.

The announcement was made by NPFL Chief Operating Officer Davidson Owumi, who issued formal invitations to clubs and key stakeholders within Nigerian football.

“We bring you compliments of the Board, Management and Staff of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL),” Owumi stated.

“I am directed to invite you to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the Draws and Fixtures event of the 2025/2026 NPFL season, which will take place on 28th July 2025 at Top Rank Galaxy Hotel Abuja.”

The AGM serves as a strategic forum where league administrators, club executives, and technical officials review operational plans, update licensing guidelines, discuss competition rules, and address key policy matters ahead of the season kickoff.

This year’s AGM comes on the heels of a thrilling 2024/25 NPFL campaign, which saw Rangers International FC clinch the league title on the final day.

The season also delivered gripping battles for continental slots and last-minute escapes from relegation.

With expectations high and the league enjoying renewed visibility and growing fan engagement both at home and abroad, the 2025/26 AGM is seen as pivotal in shaping the future direction of Nigerian club football.

Fans and clubs alike will be watching closely as the new season’s fixture list is unveiled, setting the stage for what promises to be another dramatic and competitive NPFL season.
