Nigeria captain Rasheedat Ajibade is reportedly on the verge of completing a move to Paris Saint-Germain Féminine, in what could be one of the standout transfers of the summer in African women’s football.
According to French outlet IRP_Paris, PSG have reached a full agreement with the 25-year-old forward, who recently led Nigeria to a historic Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title and won the Player of the Tournament after scooping four Player of the Match awards in Morocco.
Ajibade, known for her trademark blue hair and blistering pace, is set to join the French giants as a free agent following the expiration of her contract with Atlético Madrid in July.
She joined the Spanish side in 2021 and quickly established herself as one of Europe’s most dynamic and versatile attackers, delivering key performances in both domestic competitions and the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Her anticipated arrival in Paris could also see her reunite with fellow Nigerian international Jennifer Echegini, potentially forming a potent attacking partnership as PSG push for dominance in both Division 1 Féminine and Europe.
The deal is expected to be finalized in the coming days, ushering in a new chapter for Ajibade and reinforcing PSG’s ambition to strengthen their squad with proven international talent.
If confirmed, Ajibade would join a growing list of elite African players making their mark in the French top flight.
