Nigeria B captain, Nduka Junior, has vowed that the team will fight for pride when they face Congo in their final group-stage match at the ongoing African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Dar es Salaam.
Eric Chelle’s men have endured a difficult tournament, suffering back-to-back defeats to defending champions Senegal and Sudan, conceding five goals without reply.
Already eliminated from the competition, Tuesday’s tie at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium offers the home-based Eagles one last chance to restore national pride.
Nduka assured fans that the players remain determined to respond with character and secure victory.
“We need a win for the country. We’ll give everything against Congo,” the centre-back told CAFonline.
“The two defeats affected us, but we must bounce back.”
Kick-off is scheduled for 6pm Nigerian time as Nigeria seeks to bow out of the tournament with dignity.
