Nigerian midfielder and captain of Tanzania’s Singida Black Stars, Morice Chukwu, has hinted at a possible exit from the club if they fail to qualify for the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Chukwu, a key figure under Argentine coach Miguel Gamondi, described the target as both a club objective and a personal mission tied to his professional growth and national team aspirations.
“It’s my dream to play in the group stage of the CAF competition. That’s what gives players exposure and confidence,” Chukwu said.
“I want to be part of the Nigerian national team going to AFCON, so I have to fight with Singida to achieve that. I know it’s not easy, but I believe it’s possible.”
The 24-year-old playmaker expressed belief in Singida’s ability to surpass expectations, insisting the squad has the quality, structure, and determination to reach the latter stages of the tournament.
Chukwu’s influence has been central to Singida’s rise in Tanzanian and continental football. His leadership and composure were on full display during the club’s historic win over Burundi’s Frembeaua du Centre, which sealed their maiden qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.
With his vision and consistency, Chukwu has become the heartbeat of the Singida Black Stars and one of Nigeria’s standout exports in East African football — a player transforming ambition into achievement through focus and determination.
