Egypt Arrive in Casablanca Ahead of AFCON 2025 Third-Place Playoff with Nigeria

The Egyptian national football team has arrived in Casablanca ahead of their third-place playoff clash against Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Pharaohs, led by head coach Hossam Hassan, departed Tangier earlier on Wednesday and made the short journey to Casablanca as they begin final preparations for the encounter scheduled for January 17.

Egypt will be looking to end their AFCON campaign on a positive note after narrowly missing out on a place in the final, while Nigeria’s Super Eagles are also targeting a consolation victory following their semi-final exit.

Both sides are expected to step up training sessions in Casablanca in the coming days, focusing on tactical adjustments and squad selection ahead of what promises to be a competitive playoff meeting between two of Africa’s most decorated football nations.
