Emmanuel Fernandez has expressed his excitement following his move to Rangers FC, describing the transfer as an opportunity he could not turn down.
The defender joined the Scottish Premiership giants from Peterborough United last summer after spending four years with the League One side.
Speaking to Rangers TV, Fernandez admitted that while initial interest surfaced earlier in 2025, he remained cautious until the deal was completed.
“May 2025, I think. I was like, ‘Is there interest?’ because you never know until you know, and then some things take longer than expected,” he said.
“Some things I say that are going to happen, and they never happen. So, when I heard about it, I was excited, and I wanted it to happen, because of the size of Rangers and the club, you can’t really say no.”
“Once I heard about that, I was excited about it,” he added.
Since arriving at Ibrox, Fernandez has made a strong impression, scoring five goals in 21 league appearances for the Gers, underlining his growing importance to the team.
