U20 AFCON: 38 players earn call-ups as Nigeria U20 camp reopens on January 7

Final preparation for the Nigeria team for the U20 African Nations Cup (AFCON) is in top gear as January 7 have been set for the resumption date to camp by team’s head coach, Ladan Bosso.
The Flying Eagles are drawn in Group A with host Egypt, Mozambique and Senegal. Group A have been widely described as the group of death by sport enthusiasts and analysts.
A total of 38 players have been invited to obey the clarion call to represent the country at the youth level as coach Bosso is confident on raising a formidable squad to excel and qualify for the U20 World Cup in Indonesia.
Some of the players invited to the team are Dominion Ohaka, Onuche Ogbule, Daniel Daga, Lekan Oyedele, Michael Ologo, Adams Olamilekan, Adams Olubi, Nathaniel Nwosu, Njoku Augustine and Daniel Bamaiyi.
Others are Solomon Agbalaka, Nathaniel Tambi, Aminu Mohammed, Ibrahim Yahaya, Abel Ogwuche, Benjamin Fredrick, Chijioke Aniagboso, Jimoh Saheed, Adam Abdulrahman, Haliru Seriki, Emmanuel Ekpeyong and Samson Lawal.
The Nigeria U20 side will begin their campaign in the tournament against the Senegalese on 20th of February 2023 at the Cairo International stadium.
The Flying Eagles last won the U20 AFCON in 2015 and they will compete for a eighth diadem at this year’s edition from 19th of February to 11th of March 2023 across 3 cities, which are, Cairo, Ismaila and Alexandria.
