NWFL Premiership Super 6 ticket still possible for Robo Queens – Esther Ndubisi
By Saheed Afolabi
FC Robo Queens captain Esther Ndubisi remains hopeful that her side can still turn things around despite a slow start in the first round and qualify for the Nigeria Women’s Football League Premiership Super 6.
On Wednesday, the Lagos Landladies thrashed Adamawa Queens 3-0 to seal their second win of the season but the victory could not see them off the sixth position as they ended their first stanza with seven points after six matches.
Ahead of the second stanza, the left fullback is optimistic her side can keep up their winning momentum to boost their Super 6 qualification chances.
“What I will say about FC Robo Queens win today is I will give thanks to God almighty, right from the beginning of the season,” Ndubisi told nigeriafootball.ng.
” it hasn’t been going that to well for us but for our win today, I will give all the glory to God because it’s not by our power but by the grace of God. I believe by this win, we will keep it up.
The Super 6 is realistic for FC Robo Queens, they say with God, all things are possible, if we can keep on with this kind of performance, this kind of outing and victory, by God’s grace the Super 6 is sure for us.
“With this win, the morale of the players is now very high, at least since we can come to our own home ground to win and we have gotten an away win already, by God’s grace I’m sure we will do more than this in coming matches.”
With five points adrift of leaders Edo Queens, they will seek to maintain their winning form against Adamawa Queens in Yola when the league resumes on 8 February 2023.
