Costa Rica announce 24-player roster for Nigeria clash at inaugural Revelation Cup

Costa Rica has announced its squad of 24-player for showdown with Nigeria at the inaugural Revelation Cup in Leon this month.
The South Americans will be competing in the four-nation tournament, where they will battle Nigeria, Mexico, and Colombia from February 15 to 21.
Coach Amelia Valverde has invited seven foreign-based players in the 24-team squad including Raquel Rodriguez who plays for the United States of America’s National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) side Portland Thorns.
17 of the players on the roster are based in the Costa Rican domestic league. Costa Rica will open its campaign at the maiden Revelation Cup against Copa America Femenina losing finalist, Colombia on February 15.
Valverde’s side will face host, Mexico on February 18 before rounding up the tourney with a clash against nine-time African Champions, Nigeria.
Before then, Super Falcons will trade tackles with hosts Mexico on February 15 and Colombia two days later.
Nigeria, Colombia, and Costa Rica are using the tournament to prepare for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
The West African giants have been drawn with Australia, the Republic of Ireland, and Canada in Group B while Costa Rica is in Group C alongside Spain, Zambia, and Japan.
