Victor Osimhen: Nigeria and Napoli star reveals his football idol

Nigeria and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen says Ivory Coach and Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba as his football hero.

Osimhen is enjoying a remarkable season in the Serie A, hugging headlines thanks to his goalscoring exploits as he is fast establishing himself as one of Africa’s best strikers after netting 18 goals in 19 outings for Luciano Spalletti side.

AS Roma coach Jose Mourinho has once compared the Super Eagles striker to Drogba after the former Lille man put up an impressive outing against his side in the Italian topflight.

The 24-year-old, however corroborated Mourinho’s stance as he disclosed in a video interview posted by Napoli adding that he enjoys the way Drogba plays and thinks he is the finest.

“I watched Drogba a lot, how he played. I consider him one of the best attackers ever,” Osimhen told media.

Drogba scored 302 goals in 688 appearances in his football career where more than half of that came during his two spells at Chelsea.

Osimhen is pushing himself to surpass his idol having amassed 85 club goals at just 24 years of age.
