NPFL: Erasmus Onuh furious after Abia Warriors humiliation at Bayelsa Queens
By Saheed Afolabi
Head coach of Abia Warriors, Erasmus Onuh has expressed his disappointment with his woeful performance in a 5-1 loss to Bayelsa United in Sunday’s Nigeria Premier Football League encounter.
Despite winning the first leg 3-1 in Umuahia few week ago, the Ochendo Babes were crushed in Yenagoa and the former Heartland United manager has been left to lick his wounds from the heavy defeat.
“In my over 30 years of coaching career, I’ve never experienced such thing. I don’t know who played better until I go through the video and come up with somethings,” Onuh told media.
“Because almost every foot was put wrong, it just look as if it’s not the Abia Warriors that is playing. So I can not blame anybody now until when I get home and review it and see what happened.
“They played, we played. When we are able to put ourselves together in the second half, even upon we are playing with less players, you can see the performance we put on, it’s so unfortunate that the goal did not come but we have tried our best.”
The loss means Ochendo Babes are fourth on the NPFL group B standings with 18 points from 12 matches as they trail table toppers Lobi Stars with two points.
Abia Warriors will visit leaders Lobi in their next league game at the New Jos Stadium on Saturday, April 8.
