Serie A: Blow for Atalanta as Ademola Lookman rule out of Roma clash

Atalanta have been dealt a huge blow to their next season’s push for European football as their top striker, Ademola Lookman will sit out of crucial Serie A match against AS Roma on Monday.

The 25 year old Super Eagles’ forward was tested and confirmed to be suffering from physical challenges that saw him out of the club’s last game against Fiorentina.

A source close to the club that Lookman is suffering from muscle strain and will be out of action for couple of weeks.

“Ademola (Lookman) will not take part in Atalanta-Roma, a game that will close the match schedule of the week 31 fixtures on Monday evening,” the report read.

“The player has been subjected to further tests and the first diagnosis confirmed a muscle strain to the hamstring of the right thigh.”

The former Everton and Leicester City striker who has scored 13 Serie A goals with five assists is expected to returns before the end of the season.
