David Okereke scores in Cremonese drab draw with Hellas Verona

Cremonese forward, David Okereke was on the scoresheet as his relegation threatened side were forced to a 1-1 draw by Hellas Verona in the Italian Serie A encounter on Sunday.

The La Cremo failed to build on their early lead inspired by the Nigerian forward as the Gialloblu crawled back into the game in the last 15 minutes.

Okereke lighted up the 20,645 capacity Giovanni Zini Stadium in the ninth minute with the opening goal of the match.

Cremonese took the lead to the break as they became refreshed in the second half. Hellas Verona broke the hearts of the home fans with the equalizer in the 75th minute.

The painful draw added a dent on the survival hopes of Cremonese from topflight relegation.

La Cremo seat in the 19th position in the Italian Serie A with 20 points from 32 matches.

Cremonese will be facing a difficult tie in their next game as they visit the city of Milan to face AC Milan.
