Victor Osimhen nets 23rd Serie A goal of the season in Napoli win over Fiorentina

Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen was the heroine as his side’s secured a 1-0 victory over Fiorentina on Sunday.

Cruising from an epic equalizing goal in 1-1 draw at Udinese, Osimhen was hoping to maintained his scoring form despite already guaranteeing the historic Scudetto title for the first time in 33 years a week ago.

Napoli started as the brighter side in the game as Elmas tried his luck with his left foot which went wide off the goal post.

After a barren first half, the Super Eagles forward missed from the penalty spot in the 48th minute as Napoli search for their first goal of the encounter.

The Partenopei were awarded another penalty in the 74th minute and Osimhen stepped up to score it by sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.

Few minutes after scoring, Osimhen was substituted for Giovanni Simeone in the 77th minute. The game ended in a narrow 1-0 victory for newly emerged champions of the Italian Serie A, Napoli.

Osimhen has now recorded 28 goals in all competitions this season, 23 goals in the Serie A and five goals in the UEFA Champions League.
