Falconet continue fine U20 WAFU-B Cup preparation with win over Josiah Queens

Nigeria U-20 women’s national team continue preparation for the maiden WAFU-B Women’s Cup with its second friendly match in Abuja on Wednesday.
Falconets defeated Josiah Academy 3-0 to record back-to-back friendly wins following last Saturday’s 5-1 win.
FC Robo Queens Esther Onyenezide scored two goals off an assist from Taiwo Ajakaye to lead Christopher Danujuma’s side to a 2-0 first half lead against the Abuja based ladies.
In the second half, Delta Queens’ Taiwo Afolabi wrapped up the win for the two-time FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup beaten finalist.
It defeated Abuja U-15 boys 5-1 on Saturday to start preparation for the West African Football Union Zone B (WAFU-B) tournament.
Danjuma’s side will continue their build up with another tune-up game on Saturday as they gear up for the inaugural 2023 WAFU-B Women’s Cup in Ghana later this month.
The WAFU B U20 Women’s Tournament will take place in Ghana from 20 May – 4 June, with Nigeria facing Niger Republic, Burkina Faso, and Togo in Group B.
The Falconets will open its campaign against Niger Republic on May 21 at the Baba Yara Stadium before a clash with Togo at the same venue on May 24.
The final group game for Nigeria will take place at the Paa Joe Stadium against Burkina Faso on May 28.
