Borussia Dortmund forward, Karim Adeyemi has been clocked to be faster than Usain Bolt over 30 meter.
The German international of Nigerian descent who is known for his blistering pace and ability to get past defenders has been compared to Jamaican sprint king, Bolt.
While the comparison no idle boast, the player has ruled out that he is faster than Bolt despite having a proven record that says otherwise.
The Nigeria-born has been clocked at 3.60 seconds over 30 metres while Bolt covered the same distance in 3.78 seconds when breaking the 100m world record in 2009.
His form has been a huge factor in the Bundesliga title race as he has been a revelation since the World Cup since the 21-year-old joined the Yellow and Black from Red Bull Salzburg in January and registered six goals and five assists in 705 minutes of Bundesliga action in 2023.
This means he has been involved in a Dortmund goal every 64 minutes, which is a better record than anyone else in Germany this year and in Europe’s major leagues this year.
However, he believes nobody in football circles gets close to him when it comes to speed over the field.
“Yes, I think so. I am very confident about that. Is there anybody close? Maybe. But not faster,” Adeyemi boasts.
“I am kind of proud of it. I think my pace is my biggest strength, so it’s nice to get a small accolade like this as the fastest player. Maybe I’ll be the new Usain Bolt who knows?”
