Kelechi Iheanacho hopeful for immediate promotion with Leicester City

Nigeria international, Kelechi Iheanacho has thanked Leicester City’s fans for their support for the season as he expressed his disappointment on how everything panned out.
Leicester City will compete in the Sky Bet Championship next season after nine glorious years and the relegation brings an end to a golden era for City, who will now strive to bounce back to the Premier League at the first attempt.
The striker was potentially playing his final game for the club, with just one year remaining on his contract and with the club needing to sell assets now that they are in the second tier.
It remained unseen if the former Manchester City forward will remain at the King Power stadium next season.
However, Iheanacho is confident the club will make an instant return to the Premier League.
“I don’t even know how I feel right now. I’m so disappointed. I don’t know what to say. I just need to thank the football club, the fans, and everyone who has supported us from the start to now,” he told LCFC TV.
“I know it’s a hard one to take but if life kicks you, you just need to stand up and keep going. Whatever it is, we just keep going, stay strong, and hopefully, we get back up.
“Nobody’s really happy at this time. It’s a bad time for the club and everyone. We need to take it on the chin and move on. It’s really not what we want but we can’t go back now. We have to move forward.”
