UCL: Thierry Henry puts Burna Boy on the spot over the best in Okocha or Kanu

Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, who goes by his stage name Burna Boy was asked to pick the better footballer between Super Eagles legends, Kanu Nwankwo and Austin Jay Jay Okocha.

Burna Boy was the featured performer at the 2023 UEFA Champions League Final kickoff show on Saturday night where he captivated the crowd at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium with a spectacular performance.

The African giant caught up with some football legends on pitch punditry duty on CBS Sports shortly after the game where he was asked by Arsenal and France legend, Thierry Henry, to choose the better player between Kanu and Okocha.

Henry and Kanu were members of the famous Arsenal ‘invincible’ squad that won the English Premier League during the 2003/04 season

Also in the conversation were Manchester City legend Micah Richards, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, and Manchester United former goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel.

“I have one for you, you go Kanu or Okocha?” Henry asked.

“Don’t do this to me, man. No, I can’t do this. This is treachery. It is treason. I can get hanged for it,” Burna Boy did not take the bait and chose to instead whisper in Henry’s ear.

However, former England international, Micah Richards claimed he heard Okocha while Carragher claimed he heard Kanu.

But Henry refused to announce who Burna picked, saying “I will respect this one.”
