Kwara United engage Sunshine Stars in test match ahead of NPFL kickoff

In a bid to ascertain their level of preparation for the new Nigeria Premier Football League, (NPFL) season, Kwara United will face Sunshine Stars of Akure in a friendly match in Ilorin on Wednesday.

The match billed for 4pm at the newly re grassed Kwara State Stadium Complex will see the Harmony Boys have a feel of the new turf which they will use for the upcoming season.

Kwara United will be returning to their home ground for the first time in two years. The football pitch had been renovated and transformed from an artificial turf to a natural grass surface.

The Grade A encounter against the Owena Whales will also be used to check crowd control, match coverage, especially with the GTI coverage system, security pattern and observance of other NPFL protocols, ahead of the team’s first home match against Abia Warriors.

Kwara United FC had been involved in series of friendly matches, notable among them was their participation at the 2023 ValueJet Preseason Tournament where they lost in the semifinals.
