Omowumi Oshobukola: Former Nigeria U-20 star joins Polish side Medyk Konin

Nigeria U-20 women’s national team defender, Omowumi Oshobukola has joined three times Polish Ekstraliga champions, Medyk Konin.
She joined the Polish side from Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Premiership outfit, Edo Queens Star.
Oshobukola has been an integral part of the Edo Queens side, one of the top teams in the women’s league in Nigeria.
She has helped her former side consistently qualify for the season-ending NWFL Premiership Super Six for the past two seasons.
A key member of the Falconets (U-20 team) side that qualified for the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup as she played all four games of the team against France, South Korea, Canada, and the Netherlands.
Nigeria reached the quarter-final of the tournament losing to the Netherlands with Oshobukola playing the full 90 minutes in all four games.
She became the third Nigerian player in recent times to move to the Polish Ekstraliga. Alice Ogebe (Sportis) and Macleans Chinonyerem (Leczna) are the two recent players to join Polish teams.
