By Wale Mustapha
Enugu Rangers chief coach, Suleiman Ali has expressed delight with a 2-1 win over Niger Tornadoes in Awka.
Enugu Rangers recorded their second win of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL season on Sunday following a hard-fought victory over Minna-based outfit.
Two first half goals off the head and boot of Odoh Joel and Godwin Obaje put the Flying Antelopes in a comfortable driving seat as they dominated the entire opening half.
Tornadoes got a lifeline of a comeback when Bashir Usman halved the deficit in the 54th minute but Fidelis Ilechukwu’s side held on to snatch victory.
“It was a tough match against an excellent side, they have us a good game and it also brought out the best in us,” Ali told media
“This Rangers team is still a work in progress but we are almost there in terms how we want to play.   We hope to keep working on the team till we get it right, the dream team we clamor for in our next game would have emerged.”
Rangers now have six points from three games and will next take on Kwara United in Ilorin for their next encounter.
