NPFL: Fidelis Ilechukwu aiming victory as Rangers host Kano Pillars, Maikaba to Awka
By Wale Mustapha
Technical Adviser of Enugu Rangers, Fidelis Ilechukwu is not losing sleep on how his teams will claim victory when they host Kano Pillars for the Matchday Five of Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL on Sunday.
The Pyramid Boys will be coming for the match billed for the Awka City Stadium with Coach Abdu Maikaba who recently left his post as Coach of Rangers after two seasons in charge.
The Flying Antelopes who are still basking in the mood of their impressive 1-1 draw against Kwara United last weekend will be hoping to consolidate with victory over Pillars.
Ilechukwu told nigeriafootball.ng in the build up to the match that his side will approach it with the same mentality with a believe in his boys to get the job done.
“The match is like any other game in the league and we are not attaching anything to it but just up our game get the result we want with luck on our side.
“We respect every team and don’t look down on any team or manager. We shall work harder than we did in Ilorin with a positive mindset from the bench and those on the field,” he said.
Rangers will be without some keys members of their squad including Naziru Auwalu, Kalu Nweke, and Chinemerem Ugwueze due to injuries and bereavement but will be having the likes of Kingsley Maduforo, Chinedu Ibe-Agwu and Wilfred Dieke as well as other notable stars for the match.
The fixture will also bring back the memories of 2018 Aiteo (Federation) Cup final when the Flying Antelopes came back from 3-0 to win the cup against Pillars.
