Kenneth Omeruo Aims for First Start and Home Debut as Kasimpasa Takes on Kayserispor

Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo, is eagerly anticipating his first start of the season and a home debut as Kasimpasa prepares to host Kayserispor in a highly anticipated Turkish Super League encounter this Sunday. Omeruo recently made his first appearance for Kasimpasa during his second stint at the club, although they suffered a 2-0 loss to Galatasaray last Saturday, as reported by Completesportsnigeria.com.
While the outcome of his initial appearance might not have been ideal, Omeruo expressed his contentment at representing his team against Galatasaray, saying, “It was not the start I wanted, but I’m happy I got to feature for my team in that match against Galatasaray.”
The 23-year-old defender has his sights set on making his home debut against Kayserispor, underlining the importance of securing a victory for his team. Omeruo’s presence on the pitch is expected to boost Kasimpasa’s chances in this upcoming fixture.
In addition to his club commitments, Omeruo also aspires to rejoin the Super Eagles squad for the crucial 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zambia, scheduled for October 7. Reflecting on Nigeria’s performance in the World Cup qualifiers, he remarked, “We did a great job getting four points from Cameroon. Now it’s time to see off Zambia at home, and it will be great to be back in the team for the game.”
Omeruo has been a vital asset for the Super Eagles, featuring in two of the four World Cup qualifying games against Zambia and Algeria. Nigeria currently leads Group B with ten points, maintaining a three-point advantage over Zambia, who hold the second position with seven points.
Omeruo’s potential return to the national team could provide a significant boost to Nigeria’s bid to secure a World Cup spot.
