Konyaspor to Part Ways with Imoh Ezekiel and Two Other Forwards

Konyaspor, the Turkish football club, is reportedly planning to offload Nigerian striker Imoh Ezekiel, alongside two other forwards, when the transfer window reopens in January. According to reports in Turkey, Nigerian striker Patrick Eze and Gabonese striker Malick Evouna are the other two players that the club has put on the transfer market.

Imoh Ezekiel, who joined Konyaspor from Al Arabi for a transfer fee of £3.75m last summer, has struggled to leave a lasting impression at the club. Despite featuring in 13 games across various competitions, the Nigerian striker has been unable to find the back of the net, resulting in a string of disappointing performances.

Turkish daily Hurriyet revealed on Wednesday that the departure of these three players will create a vacancy at Konyaspor, paving the way for the potential arrival of Mehmet Batdal from Istanbul Başakşehir. The report stated, “An agreement has been reached for Eze, Evouna, and Ezekiel to leave Atiker Konyaspor in order to make room for the reinforcement of Mehmet Batdal, providing the club with stronger options.”

Imoh Ezekiel’s contract with Konyaspor is set to expire in 2020. Prior to his time in Turkey, he had successful stints with Standard Liege and Anderlecht in the Belgian Jupiler League. Additionally, he was part of the Nigerian squad that clinched the bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics, showcasing his talent on an international stage.

As the transfer window approaches, Konyaspor aims to revamp its attacking options by bidding farewell to Imoh Ezekiel and his fellow forwards, creating space for potential new signings. The club hopes that these changes will bring about positive improvements and strengthen their squad for future challenges.
