Abdulrahman Taiwo: Nigerian striker helps Spartak Trnava retains Slovakia Cup title

Nigerian striker, Abdulrahman Taiwo was the hero as Spartak Trnava secured their seventh Slovak Cup title following their 3-1 win over rivals Slovan Bratislava on Monday.
The former Olympic Eagles forward who joined on load from Sønderjyske already had four goals to his name in the cup competition for Trnava.
The Nigerian continued to play an influential role for Spartak as his strike guaranteeing the triumph after final encounter dragged into extra time following a 1-1 scoreline in regulation time.
After a drab first half goalless, it was Bratislava that took an early lead in the second half with a 57th minute goal from Andre Green.
However, Spartak pushed for an equalizer and had Taiwo to thank for getting level matters five minutes from time as he get to the end of Dyjan Carlos’s cross to stretch the game to extra time.
In the first half of extra time, the Spartak reignited the champions spirit with two quick goals from Milan Ristovski and Filip Twardzik to win it 3-1 win and got their hands of the trophy.
