Abia Warriors were lucky to win against Dakkada, admits Erasmus Onuh

Abia Warriors coach, Erasmus Onu says the team is extremely lucky to see a win following a stunning 4-2 victory at Dakkada at the Godswill Akpabio stadium, Akwa Ibom.

Goals from Emmanuel Onu, John Peter, Ugonna Felix Aniekwe and Monday Yakubu helped the Uchendu Warriors outscoted the Uyo based outfit despite efforts from Emmanuel Ayaosi and Aniekan Ekpe Okon.

Onu, who is excited by the positive result, refused to take full credit for the triumph in the six-goal thriller.

“We play, maybe I’m extremely lucky to have won. Dakkada played very well, we too we tried. But maybe we are lucky,” he told media.

“There’s no way you can not talk about winning without luck and get all your chances and filter it the way, when you filter it, you will realize we are now talking about luck. They played well and we too we played well but we are lucky.”

Abia Warriors are the third on the NPFL group B table of the abridged league with 12 points from six matches and will next battle Wikki Tourists on the 11th of February 2023 at the Umuahia Township Stadium, Umuahia.
