Ablaze Queens crowned champions of International Girl Child Day Football Tournament

Ablaze Queens have emerged victorious at the International Girl Child Day Football Tournament organized by the Sapphire Nigeria Women Football Supporters Club (SNWFSC) in Lagos, Nigeria on Saturday.

The prestigious event, held in celebration of the International Day of the Girl Child, brought together 12 amateur women’s football clubs from across the state to promote girl-child empowerment through sports.

The Sapphire Nigeria Women Football Supporters Club, recognized as the only women’s football supporters club in Nigeria, continues to champion initiatives that advance women’s football development and empowerment opportunities for young girls.

Throughout the tournament, participating teams showcased impressive talent, teamwork, and determination, with Ablaze Queens standing out as the deserving champions after an exceptional display of skill and resilience.

Speaking on the success of the event, President of SNWFSC, Jadesola Adelabu reiterated the club’s commitment to creating more opportunities for girls to engage in sports while fostering leadership, confidence, and community participation.

The tournament not only celebrated sporting excellence but also reinforced the importance of empowering the girl child through football and education.
