Abubakar Bala backs Nigeria to win FIFA U20 World Cup title

Abubakar Bala has backed Nigeria U20 men’s side to win the U20 FIFA World Cup after dismantling Argentina.

The Flying Eagles surprised many with their win against Argentina in the round of 16 to reach the quarterfinal and the Niger Tornadoes tactician tasked the squad to be cohesive and united in subsequent games.

“I am very happy with the Flying Eagles. They have made up proud. I am also happy that my kins-man and president, Ladan Bosso, is responsible for this joyous moment,” Bala told Daily Trust.

“However, I urge the team to be more cohesive in their future matches. There should be more team work. When they play as a team, it will be easier for them to achieve their target.

“If the boys can sustain the fighting spirit they exhibited on Wednesday against Argentina, I believe they will win Africa her second U-20 World Cup trophy.”

The Flying Eagles will lock horns with South Korea in the semifinal of the U20 FIFA World Cup on June 4.
