Abubukar Bala promises improved second round with Niger Tornadoes
By Wale Mustapha
Technical adviser of Niger Tornadoes, Abubakar Bala has assured of an impressive second round campaign despite their exciting first stanza outing in the current Nigeria Premier Football League season.
The Ikon Allah Boys ended their first half of the season on a losing note with a 1-0 defeat at Abia Warriors at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna as they wrapped up with 13 points from nine matches.
Despite their fantastic outing, the former FC Lokoja manager insists he is not satisfied by their first round form as he pledged to set up a more formidable squad.
“You can see that there is a little improvement in the area of converting chances; that we have been working on, even though a lot still need to be done,” Super Eagles B assistant coach told Nigeriafootball.ng.
“The players were a bit calm in front of goal today despite the fact that many chances were also squandered.
“One area which is quite disturbing is anxiousness in front of goal, however, we have taken note and will work on that before the league restarts.
“We have identified some areas of concern, especially a ball carrying player that can help the team to transit smoothly between the midfield and attack. You will see an improved Tornadoes in the second round.”
