Adam Mouktar demands improvement from Nigeria against Australia
By Saheed Afolabi
Chairman of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Football Association (FA), Adam Mouktar has backed Nigeria to up their game against Australia at the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The Super Falcons played a drab draw against Canada to steal a point in the encounter and the football administrator insists Nigeria must improve defensively if they are to excel.
“Unfortunately we got a red card. And we must improve defensively, if we are to go far in the competition,” Mouktar told Daily Trust.
“We were lucky that our goalkeeper saved the penalty and ended with the Woman of the match Award. She literally saved us.
“The Super Falcons must step up their game because our next opponents Australia are the co-host so it will be very tough to beat them.”
A heroic penalty save from goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie ensured the Super Falcons finished the game against Canada with a precious point.
Nigeria will trade tackles with co-host, Australia on July 27 at the Suncorp Stadium.
