Nigerian coach Adebayo Gbadebo has set a tall target for himself in Thailand with Kanjanapat FC following his permanent switch from his former club Suphanburi FC.
After a decade spell with Suphanburi, the 48-year-old Nigeria-born gaffer joins Kanjanapat after he guided the third-tier side to the Thai Premier League – a feat he is aiming to replicate at his new club in the Southeast Asian country.
“This is the target for now and I’m working hard to see it through,” Gbadebo told Exclusivenews.com.ng,
spoke from his base in Bangkok.
“I know it’s not going to be a walk-in-the-park task but I believe it gonna get through. At Suphanburi, I took the club through the amateur league to the Premier League and that’s what I hope to do here at Kanjanapat FC.”
At his former club, Suphanburi FC, Gbadebo served the club in three capacities including four (4) years as club director, two (2) years as Technical Director, and four (4) years as Head Coach and Team Manager.
The former Stationery Stores defender noted the importance of funds in floating and running the club but insisted that hard work, dedication, and determination will come first before funds start coming in with desirable results.
His managerial experience includes being in charge of Bangkok Christian College, Look Isan 2 (Assistant), Thai Port (Technical Director), and Rajpracha (Technical Director).
During his playing days, Adebayo left Stationery Stores in 1994 and moved abroad to suit up for Al-Bourj, BEC Tero Sasana, Mohun Bagan AC, and PSPS Pekanbaru across Lebanon, Thailand, India, and Indonesia leagues.
