Adekite Fatuga-Dada: Nigeria midfielder helps Watford hit Crawley Wasps for six

Nigeria prospect Adekite Fatuga-Dada was a second-half substitute as Watford decimated Crawley Wasps 6-0 in Monday’s Vitality Women’s FA Cup.

A brace from Helen Ward and strikes from Dre Georgiou, Flo Fyfe, Annie Rossiter and Poppy Wilson helped the Hornets obliterate the Wasps in a convincing attacking display.

Having struggled against Billericay Town, Watford established control from the off in this tie. Wilson was heavily involved in several early chances, heading one shot at goal and crossing in for Ward to attempt another.

Ward won the penalty from a corner as she looked to make a run towards the front post only to be dragged down, and converted with composure to complete 150 goals in yellow.

Starting the second half with even more intensity than the first, Wilson’s close-range strike was tipped onto the post by Chrissie Wiggins as Watford pressed high and dangerously.

The lead was doubled through midfielder Georgiou, who lifted the supporters with a striker’s finish, to poke home for her third goal of the season.

Putting gloss on the result and ending a spell of five goals in 20 minutes, Wilson completed a fluid attacking move started by Baptiste to make it six, capping off a brilliant afternoon in front of goal and in defence.

Super Falcons-eligible Fatuga-Dada was introduced in the 74th minute for Annie Rossiter.
