Ademola Lookman beats Boniface, Tapsoba to Ghana Football Awards

Nigeria international, Ademola Lookman has been voted as the Best African International Footballer from the continent at the 2024 Ghana Football Awards.
The Atalanta forward had an incredible year, leading the Super Eagles to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and scoring three goals.
For club, he contributed significantly with 17 goals and 10 assists in all competitions to help Atalanta finish fourth place in the Serie A and secure a Champions League slot.
He also became the first player to score three goals in a competitive UEFA final as Atalanta defeated Bayer Leverkusen to be crowned Europa League champions.
At the award that took place in Ghana over the weekend, the 26-year-old beat competition from his countryman, Victor Boniface, and Bsyer Leverkusen’s defender, Edmond Tapsoba of Burkina Faso.
Excited about the honour, Lookman sent a heartfelt video appreciating the organisers and everyone who cast their votes.
“Thank you for the consideration, the recognition, and the votes,” he said.
“This means a lot to me and my family. I wish I was in Ghana, but my heart is with you all. Thank you and God bless.”
