Ademola Lookman provides assist in Atalanta triumph over Lazio

By Monsurah Olatunji

Nigeria International Ademola Lookman assisted Atlanta to bounced back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory against Lazio at Stadio Olimpico on Saturday.
Smarting from a 1-0 loss at Sassuolo, La Dea recovered in time to maintain their quest for a top-spot finish.
Lookman forced Provedel to make a good save off the bar moments after Ciro Immobile missed a sitter, but he’s unable to break the deadlock.
However, the Nigerian was involved in the build-up as Davide Zappacosta opened the scoring after 23 minutes with a wonder strike, curling a right-footed strike into the top corner after he lost possession.
The former England youth international found a low cross that was missed by a few Lazio defenders before being slid home by Rasmus Hojlund to extend the lead in the 65th minute.
Though unable to add to his tally as done many times this season, Lookman lasted the entire duration of the match and registered an assist that sealed the win for Atalanta.
Atalanta held on for the win and the result blows Serie A’s top-four race wide open, helping them leapfrog the capital club to jump up to third in the table.
The Super Eagles star now has 17 goal contributions in Serie A this season, registering 12 goals and 5 assists.
