Edo Queens head coach Moses Aduku is optimistic about leading his team to success at the upcoming CAF Women’s Champions League.
Aduku, a former Nigeria international, made history by guiding the Benin-based side to their maiden NWFL Premiership title earlier this year.
With the team now preparing for continental glory, the tactician has set his sights firmly on winning the prestigious tournament, despite the tough competition from top teams across Africa.
“We aim for nothing less than lifting the trophy. That is our desire,” Aduku said. “We know it won’t be easy, but we are focused on taking it one game at a time.”
Aduku expressed confidence in his team’s preparations and readiness for the continental showpiece, noting that they have been in top form since qualifying for the tournament.
“Having reached this stage, we certainly don’t want to come back empty-handed,” he added.
“Our preparations have already started since the day we qualified. We are thankful to the Edo State government for providing us with the resources to move from our regular camp into a more focused training environment for the Champions League.”
The venue for this year’s CAF Women’s Champions League will be officially announced at the CAF Annual General Assembly Congress on Thursday, October 10.
With Aduku’s leadership and the team’s solid preparations, Edo Queens are aiming to make a strong statement on the continental stage.
