AFCON 2023: Alhassan Yusuf plays down injury severity against Equatorial Guinea

Nigeria midfielder Alhassan Yusuf has revealed that the injury he suffered in the country’s opening match at the African Cup of Nations against Equatorial Guinea was not that serious as he feared on Sunday.
The Royal Antwerp midfielder made his competitive debut for Nigeria in the 1-1 draw but was later stretchered off in the 68th minute of the encounter, after being replaced by Joe Aribo.
The midfielder was the stand out performer for Nigeria in the disappointing draw against the Nzalang Nationale as he able to dictate the pace of game in the midfield in Abidjan.
Asked why he was stretched out, he replied:”It’s just a cramp, we will see if I’ll be available against Cote d’Iviore”.
The Super Eagles will be taking on hosts, Ivory Coast on Thursday and Alhassan Yusuf will be hoping to available for the match.
