AFCON 2023: ‘Nigeria can spring surprises’ – Olisa Ndah on Super Eagles title chances

Nigeria defender, Olisa Ndah believes the Eagles are capable of pulling up surprises of winning the 2023 Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) despite not declared as one of the tournament’s favorite.

The Super Eagles will challenge Cameroon in the round of 16 at the Stade de Felix stadium, Abidjan as both sides share huge history of previous meetings.

Ndah shares huge optimism about Nigeria winning the Afcon, as the Orlando Pirates efender believes the non attachment of favourites on the Super Eagles will work in their favour and ease out playing under pressure.

“I think we can win this Afcon. I think a lot of people are not looking at us as the favourites to win it and that can work in our favour because we don’t have any pressure,” Ndah was quoted by Sowetan Live.

“Senegal and Morocco are the favourites, according to many people but as the Super Eagles I think we are more than capable of surprising them by winning it.”

The Super Eagles defeated Cameroon 3-2 in their last meeting at the 2019 AFCON.
