Afcon 2023: Peseiro hints at Iheanacho’s availability for Equatorial Guinea clash

There are strong indications that Kelechi Iheanacho will be ready for Nigeria’s opening match against Equatorial Guinea at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday, according to SavidNews re.
The Super Eagles’ winger has been undergoing rehabilitation from injury he suffered playing for Leicester City.
His team mates with the Foxes, Wilfred Ndidi has been ruled out of the AFCON party with Nigeria following his muscle injury that will see him rule out for three months.
Speaking after the Super Eagles’ friendly with Guinea, Pesiero assured that Iheanacho will be in Côte d’Ivoire for the 2023 AFCON as he’s through with the rehabilitation process.
“Kelechi arrives in Côte d’Ivoire. He has finished the treatment now in Leicester City and will be ready,” the manager told media.
Nigeria are in the same group A with hosts Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau.
