AFCON 2023: Stanley Nwabali credits coaches for penalty brilliance

Nigeria goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali has credited the national team coaches for his superlative performance in the penalty shootout against South Africa in the Semifinal of the 2023 Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON).
Nwabali said the Super Eagles coaches guided him before the penalty shootout and he contributed his best to succeed.
The shot stopper expresses excitement over the Man Of The Match MOTM award given to him considering he never expected it but glad it came to him.
He commended the team’s overall performance in the AFCON and expresses appreciation to coaches and the NFF.
“For me, I give credit to my coaches. When the time for the penalty shoot-out came up, they guided me on what to do and I did my best,” Nwabali told the Press after the game.
“When they gave me the Man Of The Match (MOTM) award, I was surprised but I am happy about it.
“It has been a good team performance throughout this tournament. I really appreciate the management and coaches.”
Nwabali have had four clean sheets in six matches at the Africa showpiece and only conceded against Equatorial Guinea and South Africa.
