AFCON 2025: CAF team to arrive Nigeria for stadia and facilities inspection

Nigeria and neighboring country Benin Republic will play host to CAF officials following a joint-bidding interest to co-host the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
With this, the inspection team of the African soccer ruling body has revealed the date they will arrive in the country to inspect stadiums and facilities before granting hosting rights to interested nations.
After Guinea, who was the original host was stripped of the hosting rights, five countries have indicated interest to stage the biennial competition.
Sources at headquarters of the body in Cairo, Egypt, March 31st to April 2nd, 2023 has been announced as the date to visit Nigeria and Benin Republic.
The new hosts will be announced in the CAF Congress slated for Cotonou mid-year after inspection visitation has been completed across all nations who indicated hosting interests.
The new dates of visitations start on March 20 – 22 in Zambia before heading to Morocco from March 24- 26 and March 27- 29 in Algeria and later in Nigeria and Benin from March 31st – 2nd April.
