The Nigeria senior men’s national team will begin preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers with a camp opening on Sunday, September 1.

The West African team is set to face the Cheetahs of Benin Republic and the Amavubi of Rwanda in their qualifying fixtures.

The Super Eagles will play their first match against Benin Republic at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Saturday, September 7. They will then travel to Kigali to take on Rwanda at the Amahoro Stadium on Tuesday, September 10.

As of now, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has not announced a permanent head coach for the Super Eagles. In the interim, there are strong indications that the Federation’s Technical Director, Augustine Eguavoen, will be in charge of the team for these crucial qualifiers.

The list of invited players for the matches has not yet been released, but anticipation is high as fans look forward to seeing how the Super Eagles will fare in these important games.
