AFCON 2025: Super Eagles in tricky Group C with Tunisia and East Africans

Nigeria’s senior men’s national team has been drawn in Group C ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.

The Super Eagles will face 2004 champions, Tunisia, in the group stage and two of the 2027 AFCON co-hosts.

They are Uganda and Tanzania, which will co-host the 2027 AFCON alongside Kenya.

Holders, Cote D’Ivoire, which edged Nigeria 2-1 to win the 2023 AFCON on home soil, will meet Cameroon, Gabon, and Mozambique in Group F.

Host Morocco is up against Mali, Zambia, and Comoros Island in Group A.

Record champions Egypt will square up against 2023 bronze medalists South Africa, Angola, and Zimbabwe in Group B.

Former champions and Africa’s second-ranked side, Senegal, were drawn in Group D with the Democratic Republic of Congo, Benin Republic, and Botswana.

2019 winners, Algeria, Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea, and Sudan are in Group E.
