AFCON 2025: Victor Osimhen Warns Senegal, Morocco, Egypt as Super Eagles Declare Fearless Intent

Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen has fired a bold warning to Africa’s traditional heavyweights, including Senegal, Morocco, and Egypt, insisting that Nigeria are fully prepared and unafraid of any opponent at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Speaking with confidence, the Galatasaray forward backed the Super Eagles as genuine title contenders, stressing that the team possess the quality, mentality, and hunger required to go all the way in the tournament.

“I see my country as one of the favourites,” Osimhen said.
“We are one of the most feared teams in this tournament. Any team can come and play us.”

Osimhen acknowledged the competitiveness of AFCON but maintained that Nigeria have the tools to dominate when it matters most.

“If they are good, they can go through. But if they are not, we can trample on any team because we have the quality to hurt any big or strong side here.”

The forward emphasised that while the Super Eagles respect every opponent, fear has no place in the Nigerian camp.

“We respect every team that makes it to the next round, but whoever we meet will feel the fighting spirit of Nigeria. We are not scared of anybody.”

Looking ahead to the knockout phase, Osimhen admitted the challenge will intensify but expressed confidence in the squad’s readiness.

“The round of 16 will be tougher than the group stage, but the boys are ready to give everything.

“This trophy has stayed away from Nigeria for too long, and every training session we remind ourselves why we are here — to win it.”

He concluded by underlining his personal determination and the collective ambition within the squad.

“I want it as badly as every other country here, just like my teammates. That is why we come together every day, to make sure we achieve this goal.”

Nigeria last won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2013, and Osimhen’s words underline a Super Eagles squad determined to end that long wait for continental glory.
